Kris Nelson is a multi award winning singer songwriter based in WA’s Great Southern. Drawing inspiration from esteemed artists such as Passenger, Bright Eyes, The Lumineers and Elliott Smith. Nelson has delicately crafted a sound that captures the essence of folk’s heartfelt storytelling with indie’s captivating energy.
With over 15 years of experience under his belt, Nelson’s original music has allowed him to tour as far as Canada, The US and many times around WA and the Eastern States.
Picking up a couple of WAM’s prestigious Song of The Year awards helped cement him into the WA music scene. Landing supports with Australian heavy weights such as Josh Pyke, Kav Temperley, Alex Lloyd, Karnivool, John Butler and most recently The Rubens.
His debut single clocks was released in November 2023, which will be followed up by multiple singles and an album release in 2024. Three tracks from the upcoming record have already been nominated for multiple awards including: Best Regional Artist, Best Folk Song and Best Folk Artist.
